Spectacular Craptacular

Ok so yesterday was NOT a good day for me.... Picture this, if you will....

I woke up and really didnt want to go to work, the only reason I was making the effort was a co-worker had some stuff to give to me. I physically and mentally dragged my feet and ended up leaving for work late. As my IRL ppl will know, we walk everywhere so there I was... ipod shuffle loaded up, shirt and top on body, shoes on feet and scowl on face walking to work. The route I take is directly along the highway (main road) of town. Its quite a walk and generally takes half an hour when I'm in that feet-dragging frame of mind. I walked, getting calmer as I neared my destination thanks in part to the Jackson 5 blaring in my ears. As I was within sight of my workplace IT HAPPENED. I saw a spider on the footpath and thought "eeew hope it doesnt run up my leg" and (as you do) kept my eye on it. Stupidly this meant I wasnt watching where I was walking and the inevitable happened. I tripped. And I mean TRIPPED. It was spectacular, the momentum I got up whilst trying to do that half run, trip trip to try and save myself, all the time thinking "I cant fall over, I havent fallen over for ages!" and BANG there I was skidding along the ground. In full view of peak hour motorists wearing a skirt! I'm sure I was groaning in embarrassment as well as pain as I picked my sorry-arse off the ground... walked back and retrieved my shoe and my handbag and limped off. To make matters worse, I got to work, sat down and promptly burst into tears! Double embarrassment! My foot was bleeding, palms grazed and elbow swelling rapidly and there I was crying while co-workers fanned me with bits of office paper, got me water and the 20 year old new guy promptly dissapeared red-faced. Wish I could've dissapeared as fast as he did.
After somewhat recovering from the embarrassment, a trip to A&E at the hospital (nothing broken), half a block of chocolate and a giggle about it on the phone to Mum, I'm feeling much better.
Might walk a different way to work on Monday thou!
