Crappy happy movies

Why in all the movies, does the heroine go thru one of lifes dramas (usually involving love) then always come out on top with a fabulous career? What is it about our generation that wants the top job? What happens if we don't get the top job and instead find ourselves punching cards or making boxes? What do we do then?
Whatever happened to personal satisfaction? Being happy with ourselves instead of happy with our things or our jobs? Are we defined by these things? Do people remember that we had a wide screen TV and a BMW when we're dead? And why after writing these words do I still feel inadequate?

Bollocks to hollywood and bollocks to advertisers everywhere. Bollocks to the people who continue to compare themselves ......and bollocks to me for caring what they think.
